The "Bridge Ministry" is a local outreach with the purpose of giving hope and encouragement to those struggling with life controlling dependencies and addictive behaviors. Our goal is to help men overcome their struggles through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We do this by providing residents opportunities to come to worship services at Calvary Chapel and attend weekly Bible studies onsite. Our hope is to encourage residents to "find their strength in the Lord."

The Brother to Brother ministry started around 2005. The vision of the ministry is to give the boys in the fellowship who do not have an active father figure in their lives an opportunity to be mentored by godly men. We meet consistently on the third Saturday of each month. This is our group activity day where we go out and have some good fun together for a few hours. We do all sorts of activities including fishing, hiking, laser tag, football, boating, kayaking and more. We also have service project days where we help out people in the body by doing small repair projects on their homes. We team up with the Men of Arms group to help out the needy in the fellowship. I believe these volunteer projects are a wonderful opportunity for the young men to really put their faith into practice and learn a practical skill at the same time. We also have a network of mentors who are willing to team up to help out the boy's families when needs arise. We have helped to move families into new homes, repair leaky faucets, painted rooms, executed minor repairs on vehicles, and offered our services in many other ways. Galatians 6:9-10 says "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." We really want to see the fatherless at this fellowship be ministered to and discipled. Once a boy begins to attend the group activities, we will prayerfully consider matching him with a mentor who would meet with him once a week. The one on one mentoring is optional, just let us know if you are interested in it.
"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling." Psalm 68:5

The Calvary Care Center is a partnership between Calvary Chapel, Wyngate Apartments and Kingdom Communities to help meet physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the area residents and our community. The apartment provides the space and Calvary Chapel provides the services.
Our desire is to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our community by building relationships with the goal of sharing the gospel message.
There are many opportunities to get involved, all with flexible hours and various time commitments. You can choose whether you serve weekly, monthly, quarterly, or occasionally. This is a very practical way to share your giftings, talents and abilities with others.
A few ways volunteers are needed are to:
• Manage and organize a clothes closet so people from the community can come and select free clothing
• Offer specialty classes (ex: teach a skill such as budgeting, guitar, knitting, computers, nutrition, parenting, etc.)
• Offer a Bible Study

In Mark 8:34-35, Jesus tells His disciples:
"Whoever desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel will save it."
Calvary House is a discipleship ministry for men who, having come to hate the sin in their life, desire to make a radical commitment to Christ. Their commitment is carried out by their willingness to submit to our leadership throughout the duration of their time with us. Our purpose is to train them to live for God's glory by learning to fight the war against sin in the interest of advancing His Kingdom.
The men live on our properties in a structured environment that provides accountability and encouragement. Calvary House is not a drug program. Many of the men we minister to do come from a life of drug abuse, but we do not rely on methods employed by Recovery centers in our ministering. Consistently, we do not shelter the men from reality by placing them in an artificial environment, like a therapeutic community. We believe they are to be "in the world, but not of the world". Therefore, they work to provide for themselves and their families. They get plugged into to the life of our Church, and they undergo consistent theological and practical training through both verbal and object lessons.
Our vision is discipleship.
Our purpose is the glory of God.
Our method is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
REFERRAL BASED
The Calvary House is not a crisis shelter, treatment center or half way house. Therefore, those who are interested must personally call to set up an interview or get more information. An individual may also write to the address listed below, expressing his desire for involvement in the ministry

Do you call Calvary Chapel your church home and are you looking to
connect and get involved but don't know where to start? We have Connecting
Coaches who can meet with you one-on-one and help you learn about
small groups, serving opportunities and where you might fit in. "Let us
consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
Let us not give up meeting together... but let us encourage one another...,"
Hebrews 10:24-25
A crucial part of a growing relationship with Christ is serving in love.
1 John 3:18, says "...let us not love with words or tongue but with actions
and in truth." Putting our faith into action through acts of service demonstrates
Christ's love and helps us "grow up" in our faith.

Youth Mentoring is an opportunity to share Christ's love as we meet emotional and spiritual needs of children. You can make an impact in the life of the fatherless, a child of an incarcerated parent or a foster child by offering friendship, support and a positive influence. Through one-on-one mentoring, friendships are developed with youth ages 8-15 who would benefit from an additional role model. In addition, a monthly fun group activity for fatherless boys from our church is offered the third Saturday of the month.
If you want to apply to be a mentor, click here.
