Children's classes are available in each of our services from nursery to 5th grade. Classes are specifically designed for each age group. Our goal is to communicate God's love to the children at their level of understanding. In grades 1-5 we use the Calvary Chapel curriculum.
Elementary age go into the S. Summit for their own time of worship with a live band and the younger children have traveling worship leaders that stop by their classes for worship.
Children who attend classes including 1st through 5th grade will get a complete overview of the Old and New Testament. We teach the children to ask three questions:
1. What does the Bible say?
2. What does the Bible mean?
3. What does God want me to do?
Wednesday night classes start at 7 p.m. Childcare is offered for infants through 2 years old. Classes are available for 3's, 4's, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten through grade 3. The boys and girls meet separately in grades 4 and 5.
Who Teaches Our Classes?
At Calvary Chapel our teachers commit themselves to serve in our classrooms in six-month increments. This provides our children with stability and consistency in their classes as relationships are built and cultivated.
Training
It is our goal to equip our teachers, helpers and volunteers to serve. Towards that end, we offer the following avenues for training:
1. We host a Children's Ministry Conference each spring with a variety of workshops to choose from.
2. Online training sessions, seminars, newsletters and curriculum from Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.
3. Link to Children's Ministry Basics, our policies and procedures manual for teachers, helpers and other Children's Ministry volunteers.
4. Teachers Orientation meetings are held two months prior to each new six month session. Check our children's calendar for specific topics and other details.

CHoSEN (Calvary HOmeSchool Educational Network) is a network composed of Moms and Educators who have a desire to reach out to the homeschooling community using their gifts and talents to help educate and encourage their students to be "Lifetime" learners.
CHoSEN Co-op understands that homeschooling is just one option for educating your children, as well as public schooling and private schooling. There is no ONE way. Although we are a homeschool group and we support and promote homeschooling, we do not feel that it is the only or best way for everyone. Each family is unique, each child is special and each time is for the moment. If homeschooling is an appropriate alternative for you, then we are here to help you on your journey.
We are a Christian program that desires to show the love of Christ to every person who walks through our doors. We have HIGH standards and guidelines for all participating in CHoSEN, which ensures your child the ability to learn in a safe and Christ-like manner.

The Brother to Brother ministry started around 2005. The vision of the ministry is to give the boys in the fellowship who do not have an active father figure in their lives an opportunity to be mentored by godly men. We meet consistently on the third Saturday of each month. This is our group activity day where we go out and have some good fun together for a few hours. We do all sorts of activities including fishing, hiking, laser tag, football, boating, kayaking and more. We also have service project days where we help out people in the body by doing small repair projects on their homes. We team up with the Men of Arms group to help out the needy in the fellowship. I believe these volunteer projects are a wonderful opportunity for the young men to really put their faith into practice and learn a practical skill at the same time. We also have a network of mentors who are willing to team up to help out the boy's families when needs arise. We have helped to move families into new homes, repair leaky faucets, painted rooms, executed minor repairs on vehicles, and offered our services in many other ways. Galatians 6:9-10 says "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." We really want to see the fatherless at this fellowship be ministered to and discipled. Once a boy begins to attend the group activities, we will prayerfully consider matching him with a mentor who would meet with him once a week. The one on one mentoring is optional, just let us know if you are interested in it.
"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling." Psalm 68:5

Calvary House is a residential discipleship ministry for men who have an evident desire to follow Christ. We minister to Christian men who are dealing with life-controlling struggles, such as drug and alcohol addictions. Our residents are seeking to be overcomers through Christ, but they need a more structured atmosphere for spiritual victory than regular church services and non-residential ministries can provide. Simply stated, we work with those who have already made a profession for Christ but have experienced difficulty conquering certain stronghold sins.
MAKING DISCIPLES
In Mark 8:34-35, Jesus tells His disciples:
"Whoever desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel will save it."
Calvary House is structured as a 10 to 12 month residential ministry, beginning with a strict structure that gradually becomes more flexible. In the first phase of the ministry, residents begin learning discipline and maintaining accountability by serving in a Christian-based work environment during the day and attending Bible studies and other classes at night.
In the second phase, residents are given more freedoms, along with increased responsibilities, as they demonstrate attitudes and actions reflective of spiritual growth. Some of the basic goals of Calvary House are:
* To train residents how to face life's challenges, conflicts and temptations in a Christ-like manner
* To provide an opportunity for residents to grow while learning to make good choices
* To develop a pattern of Christian living that glorifies God.
Once a resident graduates, he may choose to move on or to remain in a graduate phase, which is designed to spiritually and practically prepare the resident for departure.
REFERRAL BASED
Because Calvary House is not a crisis shelter, all potential residents must personally call Calvary House at 727-347-7335 to schedule an in-person interview. Family and friends may direct an individual to call Calvary House, but he must schedule the interview himself. Once the interview is conducted, a prayerful decision will be made within a couple of days.
If the individual is incarcerated, he must write a letter to the address listed below, expressing his desire for involvement in a Christian discipleship ministry. After we receive his letter, our prison minister will contact him. Men who are not accepted by Calvary House will be guided to other appropriate facilities, using our referral database, where they can receive the help best suited to meet their needs.

VOLUNTEERS
The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few! Calvary House needs volunteers who want to bless the ministry with their gifts, talents and resources. Opportunities to serve include:
* Administrative Assistants: To answer phone calls and assist with clerical duties.
* Biblical Counselors: To offer guidance through difficult issues by using God's Word (Biblical Counseling Required).
* Disciplers: To invest in one person through time, teaching and prayer.
* Teachers: To teach Bible studies or life-skill classes or to facilitate small groups.
* Employers: Business owners and managers who are willing to provide oversight and encouragement to residents by hiring them for their business.
* Skilled Workers: To help maintain and repair Calvary House.
* Donations: We often have a need for donated items in good condition, including appliances, automobiles, books, clothing, computers, furniture, home decor, kitchen items, teaching tapes, or even real estate. We also accept cash donations, and all gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
If you desire to serve in any of these areas or in some other way, or if you would like to make a donation, please contact us.

Do you call Calvary Chapel your church home and are you looking to
connect and get involved but don't know where to start? We have Connecting
Coaches who can meet with you one-on-one and help you learn about
small groups, serving opportunities and where you might fit in. "Let us
consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
Let us not give up meeting together... but let us encourage one another...,"
Hebrews 10:24-25
A crucial part of a growing relationship with Christ is serving in love.
1 John 3:18, says "...let us not love with words or tongue but with actions
and in truth." Putting our faith into action through acts of service demonstrates
Christ's love and helps us "grow up" in our faith.

At times, our work, family, daily routines and even our hobbies can keep us from the fellowship that we were designed for. God requires us to spend time with Him and He also wants us to spend time with other Christians. Our time with God is vital because without it, how can we fight the good fight of faith? And in the same measure, if we are not refreshed by God, how can we be uplifting to others? We need both types of fellowship if we are to encourage others and be steadfast, strong and courageous in the work that the Lord has prepared for us. That is why we invite you to come spend time with other like-minded singles, ages 30 and up, as we learn to: follow God's Kingdom principles, serve God better, and fellowship as a family.
Our main focus at the Singles' study is to create disciples for Christ. At each Bible study, we carefully study verse by verse through the Bible and we also have stimulating interaction in our question and answer time after the study.
We also focus on group fellowship by setting aside time for coffee, appetizers and desserts before and after each study. If you are able, please bring an appetizer or a dessert to share with the group. On the weekends when we do not have Bible study, we offer luncheons, dinners and special events like: beach outings, movie nights, backyard barbeques, sporting events, nature walks and museum trips. We try to offer something for everyone. This type of teaching and fellowship creates relationships for a lifetime.
Childcare will be available from 6:45-9 p.m. by reservation only. Contact Barbie Tyler at 577-7705 by Wednesday at 2 p.m. to reserve a space.
If you are interested in any other info, pick up a calendar of events at the Ministry Info Center or contact Brett Creamer at 710-1783.
We hope to see you at any of our Bible studies or events!

The A/V Ministry serves the fellowship here at Calvary Chapel of St. Petersburg, by operating the system that projects worship lyrics, videos, announcements and paging numbers in the Main Auditorium. The A/V Ministry serves during all scheduled worship services and special meetings held in the Main Auditorium that require projection support. We do this using video equipment and computers that use special presentation software. Everything you see on the big screens in the Main Auditorium is provided by the A/V Ministry. Occasionally weddings, funerals, and other special events will require the A/V Ministry's support as well.
Technical Requirements
If you are comfortable working on a computer and have no problems operating standard home video equipment (DVD, camcorder, VHS deck) you probably have all the technical skills required for this ministry.
Additional Qualifications
This ministry does have some additional requirements for qualifying for service that may differ from other areas of service.
You must have attended Calvary Chapel for at least one year.
This is a highly visible position that is an extension of the worship and teaching ministries. You will be working with several pastors and worship leaders very closely. Because of the nature of this relationship, we are looking for volunteers that have been a part of our fellowship for at least a year and are known by the leadership.
You must already be "Plugged In".
The A/V Ministry requires only one volunteer to operate the system during any given service. This limits the amount of interaction and relationships that can be developed. For this reason, we are looking for volunteers that are already established in a home fellowship or other small group.
You Must have a servant's heart.
The volunteers will be interacting with pastors, sound technicians, Children's Ministry workers, ushers, guest speakers and many others. For this reason, we are looking for volunteers that have a servant's heart and have demonstrated that heart in other areas of Ministry here at Calvary Chapel.
If you are interested in serving in the A/V Ministry, please fill out a
Ministry Application, you can pick on up at the Ministry Info counter in the Main Lobby. Fill it out and return it to the Office Drop Box in the Main Lobby.
